Greetings from Sydney

Please can someone advise what the settings are to setup the S5 Masonry widget so the images / text preview are similar to the demo?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

The best solution for trying to imitate the demo data is to install the shaper in a second location so that you can compare.

Hello

Thanks for your reply. I had considered this but it would be a lengthy process.

Please would it be possible to post a screenshot of the widget settings used on the demo?

Installing a shaper only takes a few minutes, and there's a very good chance that you'll need to reference more than just the Masonry settings, so it'll actually save you time because you won't have to wait for a response from me.

As for giving a screenshot - I don't have access to the demo once it is published, so I would have to install the shaper the same way you would have to.  Plus, there are multiple things that control the way Masonry looks.  Yes, the widget settings are part of it, but the images and text actually come from each post that is displayed.  To get all the images looking the same, you'll need to make sure they're all the same dimensions.  The text that Masonry uses is the "Excerpt" for each post, so you'll need to enter that separately from the main post content.

Hopefully that helps.

lazy answer. It may well take an expert such as yourself a few minutes but i've wasted yet more time trying to work this out and got nowhere. All i wanted was a screenshot of the widget settings!

I have to say, of all the wordpress themes i have used, this is by far the most user-unfriendly. The formatting on the blog posts needed extra coding to ensure spacing between paragraphs, the demo is difficult to install and it was a nightmare to locate how to update each section.  I am going to cut mine and my client's losses and uninstall.

I'm attaching the screenshot, but your best option is still to install the shaper somewhere for reference.

Installing the shaper takes only as long as a typical WP install; there is nothing different in the process.  All you have to do is upload the shaper then go through the install the same way you would if it was normal WP.  Uploading the files takes more time than the 1-5 minutes of actually going through the install.

As for the issue with formatting, the "RAW HTML" option on the "Content" tab of the theme settings will re-enable the auto-formatting that WP usually applies; this option had to be added for demo content that uses custom HTML because WP was breaking things.

I'm not sure what you mean about it being difficult to update.  The majority of the demo content is controlled with widgets; using Widget Context to show or hide each widget on specific sections of the site if they aren't intended to be viewed globally across the site.  There's even a URL toggle that will label each section of the site on the front end, so you can see where the widgets are located: http://shape5.com/demo/wp/fitness-center/?tp=3
This is a framework feature, and is available in all of the responsive releases.
