On a new installation, with database created and linked, when I import the shape5-emercantilism_vm.sql file using phpMyAdmin, the server does not respond and the import does not close after 30 minutes.  Seems I am doing something wrong....   any help please?  My host refers me to the author of the sql dump.

Try using internet explorer, it sounds like the import is perhaps timing out and internet explorer has a higher timeout limit.

I attempted to submit the SQL dump using Safari and an Apple Imac.  Various attempts all failed.  Installation using IE on Windows XP went through apparently correctly within a few seconds.

Problem solved.
