I have an Eventful site that has been working fine for almost a year. I needed to move the site to a new server last week. Everything was fine after the move, but now (2 days later) the main menu does not show up on the site. It is also missing on the floating menu. I checked the template Main settings and the Main Menu is correctly designated, and the option to show or hide is set to show.

Even though I saw the menu working when I first restored the site on a new server, I'm assuming it has something to do with the move and a piece of the template became lost.

How do I get it back?

Solved.

I reinstalled Vertex 4.2 (was on 4.0). Apparently there is a conflict with Joomla 3.8 that the new patch fixes.

This caused a huge problem for me. I have almost 20 live sites I just updated to Joomla 3.8 and now I see all of their menus are gone! Seems  like a notice to members would have been good. As it is I luckily found this notice on the Vertex update page.

Hello,

Yes we did put out a blog post regarding this. We are sorry this happened. We are also currently talking with Joomla on backward compatibility and this recent change that broke all Shape5 templates.

Thanks Jonahh, and I know this isn't Shape5's fault, but I don't check the blogs of all the templates, plugins, components, etc. regularly for all the sites I build. With an issue like this, could you have sent out an email to all members? That would have kept me from updating. Not blaming, I just think there could have been better communication for an issue that big. An email seems simple enough. I get them for other Shape5 things like a sale, why not for an issue that will effect every single member you have?

True good point an email would have been a good idea. I personally didn't think of doing that.
