Hi !!
the menu on my site disappears after upgrading from joomla 3.7.5 to 3.8.2. How can I solve this problem?
I downloaded the package from the page:
http://www.shape5.com/component/option,com_docman/Itemid,96/task,cat_view/gid,307/
I unpacked Shape5_Vertex4_Patch and plugin_s5_flex_menu_current. What do I do with it ?
How do I install the patch? Please, let me know how to do it step by step.

Hello,

We will have a component for Vertex released in a day or so. But for now there is the following FTP method and instructions on how to install the files you download can be viewed here:

Hi Jonah, I have the same problem - my main menu disappears yet all my setting are correct. I did exactly as you suggested but now my site is not showing and I'm getting a message which says, "Template XML file not found." I'm stressing!

Ok some reason some FTP clients remove the old files and put in the new ones. No idea how this happens but that is why we just recently created a Joomla component to apply the patch. So to fix your site  you will need to reinstall the Risen hope template and then install the Vertex updater component here. Once installed just go to it and you will be able to update your template:

So if reinstall the template will I lose all my content, or will it be there exactly the same? Also, do I follow the instructions as per "How To Install A Joomla Site Shaper"? I'm not expert on all the procedures and it takes me hours to work it all out.

You won't lose any content. I can reinstall it for you. You already lost all the CSS files to the template so hopefully you didn't  make any edits to the CSS files.

Johan Hill,

When i try to download the component it just gives me the following message, even though it should be free (it stands under free components and in the blogpost it is called free):

Is there a way to download it? The FTP method doesn't work for me and I lost my menu bar.

With kind regards

Hi Jonahh, yes, please help me and upload the template again - I did not make any changes to the css files. I PMed the login details to the back end.

I'm just thinking that I might start again (not sure if I will but I've learned a lot since uploading your template and creating this website and thinking I might do things a little differently (better)). I'm guessing I'll have to ask my host server to delete everything and then I begin again. If I do that, with the original template I downloaded (more than a year ago) will it create the same problems I've just been having? IF I DO start again I'll build the sight on the server rather than on localhost.

Ok I reinstalled the template for you and also installed our new Vertex updater component so you never have to FTP files again. Just go there when you need to update your template.

If you were to use the original template yes. If you grab a fresh download its already updated to latest version of Vertex. This is what I did for you already though and installed it.
