How do I increase the space between the site logo and the very top of the page?
[I know the height attribute in the s5_header affects the space between the logo and the main menu bar.]

You have to adjust the height of the s5_header div. At line 360 of the file template_css.css look for:

#s5_header {
height:87px;

and adjust the height. Then you will have to adjust the s5_logo.png file to re-position the logo.
