I have the news ticker installed and article titles show up, but not the content. It seems that the ticker is adding a line return or paragraph break after the article title, so the text is falling out of the visible area.
I copied the template (Content King) settings instructions to set it up.
It's at www.misterrestoration.ca/newsite if you need to have a look.

Thanks

John
Other thought: Actually the template is being weird - the home menu just showed up on it's own, when it was hidden before, I didn't change anything. Also the arrows are set to on in the module but they're not showing. Hate computers.

Hello,

Oh for the text not showing up this is probably because your WYSIWYG editor in Joomla is adding paragraph tags or line breaks. Try temporarily disabling it and be sure its just text in there and no extra HTML formatting.

As for the home menu that looks really weird. Its outputting 2 <a> tags thats why its bumped down. I've never seen this before and recommend installing a fresh Vertex 4 patch on your site to be sure you have the latest files as they may fix this. Also be sure that in your Vertex theme specific area the "hide home menu" item is enabled.

I realize we're covering two issues here at the same time, but anyway, on we go.

Newsticker: It's a module, not an article. So will disabling a wysiwyg editor while I pick the categories in the module make any difference? Or are you suggesting I need to create the articles using a plain text editor or code edit window?

Re. the Home menu. Vertex is up to date - the template was only installed a few days ago, so I haven't had to update since installation. Also, Hide Home(First Menu Item) is Enabled, so Home menu should not show at all.

I can try reinstalling the template I guess..... Edit: I reinstalled the template. No difference. Weird.

The newsticker pulls articles from categories. So each article that it pulls you'd need to check for spacing like I was saying.

That is weird, if you can PM me FTP and Joomla login details I can take a look at this for you.

Thanks
