Hi, can someone point me in the right direction for disabling double opt-in within this plugin? I've got everything working, just need to change it to a single opt-in.

Thanks,
Brandon

Hello,

What do you mean double, what is it doing? It should just auto add the user to your list when they signup via the form.

Hey Jonah,

Yeah its not quite working that way for me. By double opt-in, I mean that after someone "subscribes", they won't be added to my mailing list with mail chimp until the user confirms the subscription via an email automatically sent out from Mail Chimp. I've confirmed that all my double opt-in settings have been disabled within Mail Chimp. From my research, I'm guessing this is how the plugin was written. It even says in the prompt to check your email to confirm after you submit an email address. I see the api used here is pretty old. I found instructions on how to disable double opt-in manually in the api for version 2.0 and 3.0... but nothing for version 1. Can you tell me what I might need to do to make this happen?

Thanks,
Brandon

Hey Brandon,

Ah yes I forgot they do get the message "Success! Check your email to confirm sign up." once submitting their email. Unfortunately there is no way to change this without a rewrite of the module.

Hey Jonah,

Yeah, I kinda figured. Considering the API is pretty old at this point, and having no single opt-in options, is the component set to get an update anytime soon? Considering new signups can easily be forgotten/lost since most people will not return to their email finish the signup, this component is practically useless.

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Brandon

We don't have any plans to update this at the current moment.
