Hi,

I'm trying to make use of the "JCH" extension in Joomla! 3.8.7 with the Charity template. All works good, except module "S5 Image and Content Fader v4" on top of the template. The issue is that the images in the slide fader dissapper when I use JCH.

Would you have any suggestions on how to make the two compatible ? Anything out of your experience or that you're aware of ?

JCH is a great product (like your templates are) as it allows many options to be set to improve page load time. I know the template has a couple options to compress CSS, but JCH, as a specialized plugin, has many more. It would be my intention therefore to switch off the template compression in itself, and use JCH instead.

I'm using JCH for all of my web sites.

Thanks!

Hello,

Is JCH a compressor plugin? Compressors have a tendency to manipulate javascript or change the order, which is  a major problem for scripts. We can't debug something that is manipulating the way we have coded our products, that is an issue with the plugin.

Hello Mike, thank-you for your instant reply!

yes, JCH does compress HTML, java, etc. I understand your point.

Let me try to circumvent the issue: can you please tell what are the CSS/script/whatever files that I need to tell JCH to _NOT_ manipulate ?
The idea I have is to instruct the plugin to completely skip everything that relates to that specific module.

Thanks!!

Hello,

"Let me try to circumvent the issue: can you please tell what are the CSS/script/whatever files that I need to tell JCH to _NOT_ manipulate ?"

----It really shouldn't be manipulating any files, not just from the module. This is just my opinion, but compressors often cause more problems than they help. They are just creating less header calls on the site, which has almost no impact on site performance. It compresses the files somewhat, but the files are already pretty small. I usually try to discourage people from using them. If you want to use it though you can look in the following folder. Any files in there definitely should not be altered. I don't know that this is going to fix the problem though because there's guarantee there isn't an error elsewhere on the page that's just causing the image and content fader to break:

modules\mod_s5_image_and_content_fader\js

Hello Mike,

thanks for your honest feedback. I'll look into the folder you mentioned and give it a try. If I succeed, that's good enough. If not, looks like your suggestion has a reason to exist, so I will not use JCH on this site.

I'll post a follow-up so others will know as well what to do (or not to do).

Thanks!
