I am impressed with the latest eCommerce template and the VirtueMart accordion v2 module.  Have there been any functionality tests of the module with a large number of product categories?  I have a site with 20 categories, 140 total subcategories, and subcategories under those.  I am worried this module might be slow with such a large number of categories.  Has there been any testing of this modules with a large number of categories?  Are there any live sites using this module that we can test?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Hello,

Here is a lacrose site built by one of our members.

http://www.budgetlax.nl/

He has a fairly large menu 16 main categories with subs.  The menu has been tested on larger sites. Pretty much once the browser has finished loading the site with all the main and sub categories the menu should function at the same speed a site with only a few categories would run at.

Hope this helps,

Is there any way to set the module to keep a Subcategory list open?

I.E. on the live site you mentioned, there 5 subcategories under the category Gloves.  If I click on Gloves, I'd like to see the subcategory list stay open.  If I click on one of the subs, I'd like to see the subs list and any subs under the one I selected also to stay open.

Is that possible with this module as its written?

No this is not possible with this module as it is written. The module does however have an option built in to have all main and sub level categories visible at all times.

Regards,
