I miss the account maintenance in the VM accordion menu.

Now I would like to add that to the S5 box that I have published my login form to. Is there a way to publish Account Maintenace to that position IN ADDITION to the login module?

And is Account Maintenance a separate module or mambot that I can use for that purpose?

Jos,

Yes, you can add as many modules you would like to the S5 box in Your Store.  Scrollbars will automatically appear once the content or modules added do not fit in the defined box height.

What you can do is take out the current login form you are using for the S5 Box and replace it with the "Online Shop" module that is included with VirtueMart.  This module will allow users to login and once logged in the module will show the account maintence link.

That sounds like the right solution but:

- There are no pre- and aftertext but I guess that could be solved by publishing a text module on top and below the VM login
- The customer name is not shown
- It looks awfull. The Account Maintenance link is getting lost behind a horizontal line

This template really could use a marriage between the Joomla Login and the VM login.

For me the issue is not solved.

Any new insights on this issue?

Is it a problem to add a parameter on the Accordion Menu to show the Account Maintenance link like in the original VM menu itself?

Hello,

This would require some custom coding and time to debug and get the module properly working.  If you would like to take a hack at it I've included a stripped down version of the Joomla login module.  Please not I have not tested this but it should be all the code that is needed to output the logout button once logged in.

I hope this helps.

You have me totally confused here. Let me try to explain again.

In the VM accordion module there is no login function like in the original VM component. If you use the login function of the VM component, it adds after login a link that says "Account Maintenance". This allows the returning customer to check all his previous and current orders registered in the store.

It is this function that is missing in the VM accordion menu.

Because the login and account maintenance function is missing in the accordion menu, I have published the Joomla login into the toolbar position. That works fine except that I now do not have the Account Maintenance function to display current and previous orders as the Joomla login does not support that.

I did try to publish the original VM menu module into the Toolbar position and unpublish the Joomla login. My comments from Jan 27th relate to this trial.

Unless I migrate back to the original VM menu with the login and the Account Maintenance link, I have no way to have my customers check their current and previous orders.

I would appreciate a solution for this. My preferred option is to have this in the S5 box as I have stashed the login away in that box allready. It is labelled My Account so this is the preferred option for me.

Jos

Jos,

I've put a new version of the module in the download section. You now have the ability to turn on/off the account maint links, the search box, the mini cart and the list all link. The login feature for the default module does not appear to be working with the newest version of 1.0.14 Joomla so I did not include that portion of the default module.

Help!

I downloaded the VM accordion menu from the downloadsection, removed the old VM accordion module AFTER i made a print of all the parameters.

I then moved and re-installed the new VM accordion menu that I had just downloaded. Not only did I not find any new parameters as mentioned in the response above (no button to switch on Account Maintenance) but now my whole site is down!

I can see the VM accordion menu OK. But the rest of my site does not load. My shop is down.

1. I do not have the new VM accordion menu
2. My site is down

What have I done wrong?

In the module manager can you try setting each of the new show settings to no? ie: show cart, shoe links, etc. (they're all at the top)

See if that brings it back up. And then one by one put them back on to see if we can narrow down which one is doing it then we'll go from there.

I have VM 1.0.13a and joomla 1.0.12.

I do not have any of the new features in the VM accordion I have just downloaded today. Functionally it is identical to the one I had before so I cannot switch off any of the new features.

The filename I downloaded is: mod_s5_vm_accordion_10.zip
