I am trying to change the graphics on the template through the joomla template manager. At the top of the temp manager on the eWorld temp the message that reads params.ini is unwrittable. I went into the temp folder and found the params.ini and changed the permissions to writable. (777)

Once I go back and try and save my changes in Joomla temp manager the permissions seem to reset back to unwritable (555) which excludes me writing to the file. Oddly enough I can open the file and see in the params file my changes were indeed saved, however the frontend of the site never portrays the changes.

I have repeatedly tried resetting the permissions back to 777 and the changes continue the same frustrating cycle. Any other advice on how to attack this problem?

Thats odd the front end is portraying the changes.  Lots of times Joomla will say its not writable yet you still can write to it.  If you PM me FTP and Joomla login details I could take a look at this for you.

I had this problem a while back and it turned out that instead of CHmod on the file itself, I had to apply the CHmod777 to the parent folders.  Seemed the children files and folders were inheriting parameters from the parent.
