I have spent  a full day getting this template to work with IE8. My best advice is disable everything that is not really really necessary.

In my case I finally had to disable the front page template and only use the inner one. This is a lot less beautiful. I was suffering the redirect to home page error reported elsewhere in the forum for vm users.

The product scroller module didn't show text properly without override CSS.

I would love to hear from anyone who  fixed the return to front page problem without switching to just the 'inner' template.

Hello Robert,

Can you explain exactly what was wrong with the fontpage template in IE8?  It should work, looking at our demo in IE8 it works.

My site was redirecting to the home pages when I tried to purchase anything. I am about to set up another site with this template so I report here if I have any similar problems with the new one.

Set up a shop at www.singlestep.info

check out just makes a pop up with the same page, but interestingly, if you purchase on thepop up, it asks for address details. Please have a look. Losing customers on this.

Cheers

I see you are using the popup checkout style, would you be able to PM me FTP login details so I can take a look at the files VM files.  I believe a change has to be made for the popup to work properly as you are using SEF URLs

Also I see your URLS are being displayed as (using the shop button as example here):

http://www.singlestep.info/index.php/Shop.html

They should be:

http://www.singlestep.info/Shop.html

Try renaming your htaccess.txt file in your joomla root to .htaccess (include the period prefix too)

Regards,

I am using IIS so renaming pages is tricky. I am using SH404SEF so I may be able to do something there.

Don't need or want pop ups. I am embarrassed to admit I don't know where to turn it off.

Forwarded login details. Feel free to change VM and SEF as needed.

Don't have FTP on this server.

Thanks for your offers of help

Embarrassed: SH404SEF was at fault. I hadn't used the option to skip SEF for VM. It is now working fine.  I'm even going to try reactivating the front-page template.

Your could help me a lot though by showing me how to deactivate pop up. It is too small for easy use and  nobody likes pop ups anyway.  Thanks.

If you don't want the popup to show just make sure no modules are published to the toolbar position.
