How do I go about about password protecting some of the articles and allow only registered subscribers to certain parts of the pages?
I like how Shape5 has parts open to the public, but download area needs be registered or be a paid member?  I want to secure some of my articles and pictures and allow only paying subscribers.

Any help or direction would be great.

Hello, that is done through access control levels:

You can set modules or articles to specific groups when editing them in the backend.
