Hi
I developed my site on localhost and have just posted to the net at http://www.greytontourism.com

The site has loaded with "Latest News" which was not on my original site, but far more important is that none of my content is accesible - if you click on any button or link it just gives an error - I did not have any problems on localhost. I have over 160 pages on this site! I can not get any to display

The only difference between the two sites is that on the web I am working with Joomla 1.5.15 and I developed on 1.5.14 -

Any ideas?

I unpublished "Latest News" so the content has gone - but I still have an empty block I cannot get rid of. I have unpublished all the "below_body" options, "inset" but I still have an empty block?
I will send my password as a PM.
Regards
Lex

Hello, I am seeing a lot of 404 errors on your site, I would suggest turning off any SEF settings you have on to see if there is an htaccess problem on your site.

But why would it have worked on the local system?

Hello, perhaps something there is a setting on your server that is causing the problem or something didn't transfer right. Without being the one who setup the site or transferred it would be impossible for me to know exactly what the differences between your localhost and live site are.

I switched off SEF - and now I do not get an error - I just get a blank page (most of my menu items are category blogs which fill up depending how many category entries I have). I will leave it on for you to check.

Some advice please.

I will re-transfer the entire site (it is huge...). Can you advise which of the following would be best.

1. Should I delete the SQL Server and re-create it and then import the local db? Can I do this without updating anything else?

2. Can I copy the entire site back to the server - must I re-create the dbase first?

Any step that I am leaving out?

Hello,

It sounds like your content in the database didn't transfer over. I would recommend:

1. Make a complete backup of your current database
2. Drop all the table from the database
3. Export all the tables on localhost with gzip in phpmyadmin
4. Import the tables into your server.

This will ensure that all data is transferred.
