S5 Weather Version 2

The S5 Weather Module v2 pulls XML data from Yahoo.com and displays the weather for the current day and the upcoming 2 days along with images depicting the type weather. You can enter a zip code in the administration side and also switch between celsius and fahrenheit.

Features:



  • Enter ZIP code via admin side
  • Choose celsius or fahrenheit
  • Pulls weather data from Yahoo weather


For those of you living outside the US, please complete the following steps :



  • 1. Drill down to your location on Yahoo Maps http://weather.yahoo.com/
  • 2. Look at the address bar (If you live in Melbourne, Australia it looks like this: http://ther.yahoo.com/Melbourne-Australia/ASXX0075/forecast.html?unit=c)
  • 3. Copy the region/area code found in the above URL (ASXX0075)
  • 4. Next open up the weather.class.php file (../modules/mod_s5_weather) and search for the the word: 'location' (there are two instances) and replace with the code that you have just copied from Yahoo, save and close.
  • 5. In the Admin area of the weather module simply paste the Yahoo region code into the zip code box (in this scenario: ASXX0075)

The S5 Quick Contact module is a simple way for your visitors to get in contact with you, it is demo'd on the homepage of this design. Sometimes full contact pages are just too much. If you're looking for an easy way to stay in contact with your visitors this module is for you. This module has fully configurable language settings, sends emails to a specified admin account, three ways of spam protection and much more! And of course it's free!

Please note - This module uses the php mail() function. If you are not receiving emails this is a security setting on your server or a spam filter issue. Please contact your hosting provider to resolve this issue. In most cases there will be no issue at all.


Features:

  • Specify text of error message and field names
  • Specify height of text area
  • Set width of all boxes
  • Validates email address
  • Include intro text if desired
  • Set one admin email to receive all emails
  • 3 forms of spam protection:
    1. Checks headers for malicious attacks
    2. Uses hidden field for spam alert
    3. No direct access to file allowed

The S5 Spotlight News module is demonstrated on the homepage of this site and can be used on any Joomla template. There are two copies of the module one on top of the other.




Show case off your newest article or setup a nice looking news gallery for your site. Your newest article will be shown as a spotlight article with features such as showing pictures, read more link, created date and more settings to show off this particular article. Older articles will show as links below the main spotlight article.

This module comes with the following features:

  • Choose a category and section to pull content from.
  • Choose the total number of articles to be shown.
  • Choose to show or hide images for the first article.
  • Choose to show or hide the read more link for the first article.
  • Set your own read more text.
  • Set the number of characters to be shown in the titles and the body of text.
  • Configure font sizes and margins for all areas of text shown in the module, this includes titles, text bodies, read more links, dates and more.
  • Choose to enable or disable the created date
  • Display the read more link on the left or right side of the first article.
  • Create multiple copies of the module on the same page.
